> The 2026 estimate includes transaction-related costs for Forte Biosciences, while a possible empasiprubart launch depends on December trial results.

argenx expects its combined research and development and selling, general and administrative expenses to reach about $4 billion in 2026, while preparing up to five potential U.S. launches for 2027.

CEO Karen Massey described the possible launch slate during the company's Oct. 22 earnings call. It spans added uses for medicines already in argenx's portfolio, a new auto-injector format and a possible launch for a pipeline treatment. The milestones are at different regulatory and development stages, so the count does not mean five new drugs.

For pediatric generalized myasthenia gravis (gMG), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted priority review to applications, with a target action date in February 2027. An application for ocular myasthenia gravis has been submitted. argenx expects to submit an application for VYVGART Hytrulo in immune-mediated necrotizing myopathy (IMNM) by year-end 2026.

argenx plans to introduce the VYVGART Hytrulo auto-injector for approved indications in the latter half of 2027. VYVGART is approved for gMG, while VYVGART Hytrulo is approved for gMG and chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP). The auto-injector plan concerns a delivery format; other potential launches involve additional indications.

The potential launch of empasiprubart for multifocal motor neuropathy (MMN) depends on clinical results. Phase 3 results are expected in December 2026. Massey said argenx plans to seek priority review if the results are positive.

For the quarter ended Sept. 30, 2026, product net sales reached $1.721 billion, 54% above the year-earlier quarter and 13% higher than in the second quarter. Research and development expenses totaled $503 million, while selling, general and administrative expenses were $598 million. Total operating expenses for the quarter were $1.266 billion.

The $4 billion outlook covers the combined R&D and SG&A categories for the full year and includes costs related to the Forte Biosciences acquisition. It is a full-year estimate across those two expense categories, while the $1.266 billion figure is total operating expenses for one quarter.
