> The fund has about $29 billion under management, but that balance was not moved on-chain.

Aviva Investors launched a $66 million tokenized share class for its Sterling Liquidity Fund on the XRP Ledger, in partnership with Ripple, giving eligible investors a digital way to hold fund shares.

Aviva invested $66 million in the new class, which is backed by a fund with about $29 billion in assets under management. The wider fund balance was not transferred to the ledger. Across this class and a U.S. dollar tokenized share class launched July 29, investments exceeded $116 million as of Oct. 26.

The tokenized class changes how eligible investors access and hold shares while leaving the fund’s existing structure in place. The fund’s underlying assets stay with The Bank of New York Mellon. Eligible investors can access the new class through digital wallets.

The Ireland-domiciled money market fund, launched in 2002, invests in high-grade, short-term debt denominated in pounds. The launch creates a digital share class; it does not represent a $29 billion purchase of XRP or a transfer of those assets to the ledger.
