> More than 75% of new North American deliveries included the supervised system in the third quarter of 2026, while Tesla’s count combines monthly subscriptions with upfront payments.

Tesla’s latest quarterly update showed wider adoption of Full Self-Driving (Supervised), but a combined subscription count and broad revenue categories leave the software’s standalone sales contribution undisclosed.

Tesla counted 1.74 million active FSD subscriptions as of Sept. 30, 2026, up 67% from 1.04 million a year earlier. The count includes upfront purchases and monthly subscriptions, and excludes free trials, so it does not show how many customers pay monthly.

FSD appeared on more than 75% of new North American deliveries in the third quarter of 2026, nearly 20 percentage points above the second quarter. The U.S. monthly price is $99. Drivers must remain fully attentive, and the system does not make a vehicle autonomous.

Tesla reported $4.605 billion in third-quarter “Services and other” revenue. A separate $4.08 billion in deferred revenue as of Sept. 30, 2026, covers internet connectivity, FSD access and maintenance, free Supercharging and over-the-air updates. Tesla has not disclosed FSD-specific revenue or a standalone profit margin.

Automotive revenue was $20.56 billion of Tesla’s $28.046 billion in third-quarter revenue. Tesla delivered 486,532 vehicles in the quarter, down 2% from a year earlier.

Tesla said it expects software and fleet-based profits to accelerate over time alongside hardware-related profits. It also said it began deploying Cybercab in its Austin Robotaxi fleet and had nearly 2 million cumulative unsupervised Robotaxi miles by the end of the quarter. That mileage is separate from the FSD subscription count.

A 2025 sales comparison offers context, with limits: BYD’s passenger battery-electric vehicle sales totaled 2,256,714, while Tesla’s vehicle deliveries totaled 1,636,129. The figures measure different things, and BYD’s sales figure was unaudited and subject to adjustment.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk also described FSD as a demand driver during the earnings call. The quarterly update does not provide a monthly-paying customer breakdown or a separate FSD revenue figure.
