> The commitments cover each founder’s personal equity in Anthropic, while the timing and recipients remain uncertain.

Anthropic’s seven founders have pledged 80% of their personal equity in the company to philanthropy, but the pledges are voluntary and revocable, leaving the timing and recipients uncertain.

Each of Anthropic’s seven co-founders has pledged 80% of their personal equity in the company. The seven are Dario Amodei, Daniela Amodei, Tom Brown, Jack Clark, Jared Kaplan, Sam McCandlish and Chris Olah. The commitment covers equity in the company, not their personal assets generally.

The timing of donations and their recipients remain uncertain. Potential channels include charities, private foundations, donor-advised funds or other philanthropic vehicles.

The IPO offering price and the number of shares each founder may sell remain blank, so their remaining stakes cannot yet be definitively valued after the offering.

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei outlined the commitment in a January essay about AI and wealth concentration. “The thing to worry about is a level of wealth concentration that will break society,” he wrote.

The personal equity pledge is separate from the planned voting arrangement. Founder LLC’s Class F share would carry 50.1% of total voting power on matters submitted to stockholders generally, under [Anthropic’s IPO governance plan](<https://www.tokenpost.com/news/business/41387>).
