Guardarian is eyeing the United States and the Middle East and North Africa for expansion, CEO Petr Sergeev said, though the company has not announced a launch date or detailed licensing steps.

Some U.S. customer services already operate through Bridge Building Inc. The company handles customer onboarding and fiat processing for some customers and is registered with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network as a money services business, with money-transmission licenses where required. Guardarian provides access to the digital-asset exchange service. Sergeev did not specify what additional U.S. expansion would involve.

Requirements vary by state. New York requires a BitLicense or approved charter for virtual-currency business activity. California’s Digital Financial Assets Law generally requires a license or exemption for covered activity involving California residents, or an application filed by July 1, 2026, with a decision pending. Sergeev did not identify which state requirements would apply to Guardarian’s potential expansion.

“Having a license doesn’t necessarily guarantee a smooth sailing there,” Sergeev said, describing the distinct regulatory systems crypto businesses face across regions. He also named MENA as an expansion target and said the company plans to expand in Asia in 2027.
