> AFCO has $6 billion to $7 billion in assets, and Truist is weighing a sale of the business or its assets.

AFCO Credit Corporation, a U.S. insurance premium-financing business owned by Truist, has $6 billion to $7 billion in assets as Truist weighs a possible sale.

Truist has hired financial advisers to seek a buyer and is weighing a sale of AFCO as a business or a disposal of its assets. The process is at an early stage and may not result in a transaction.

Premium financing lets businesses spread insurance payments over time. Truist's Oct. 16 earnings presentation separately described an ongoing companywide franchise review to reallocate capital and expenses and improve the bank's balance-sheet composition. The presentation called LightStream a noncore, loan-only business with below-target return on tangible common equity.

On Oct. 14, Truist signed an agreement to sell Carlyle Group Inc. $7.7 billion in unsecured consumer loans representing substantially all LightStream assets. The transaction was expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to customary conditions. Truist's third-quarter results and LightStream transaction were covered in an earlier [earnings report](<https://www.tokenpost.com/news/business/33428>).

No buyer, sale price or transaction timeline has been reported for AFCO, and no official announcement or filing confirmed the sale process.
