Millennium Management is developing a tool for portfolio managers to use data from Polymarket and Kalshi as signals in traditional-asset trades. The hedge fund has about $97 billion under management and has not begun trading prediction-market contracts directly.

Some managers are especially interested in prediction-market data tied to geopolitics, the economy and commodities. The planned tool would put information from those markets into managers’ research on traditional assets.

Prediction-market contracts can be tied to outcomes such as elections, economic data and corporate developments. Millennium’s project would use the data as a signal for traditional-asset trades; the fund has not started trading the contracts itself.

Other firms have entered the sector in different roles. Susquehanna and Jump Trading previously entered as market makers, while AQR expanded its quantitative research team focused on prediction markets over the summer.
