> Operating profit reached $62.38 billion, while DRAM and NAND prices rose as much as 25% from the prior quarter.

SK hynix posted record third-quarter revenue of $78.32 billion as AI memory demand lifted operating profit to $62.38 billion and shares were up 10.14% as of 11:35 p.m. ET Tuesday.

Revenue for the July-through-September quarter increased 32% from the previous quarter and more than 320% from a year earlier. Operating profit rose 632.1% year over year, with a margin approaching 80%. Net income totaled $29.78 billion, up 215.7% from a year earlier but down 58% from the second quarter.

Average selling prices for DRAM and NAND rose about 20% and 25%, respectively, from the second quarter as server demand tightened supply. SK hynix expects memory shortages to last through 2030, while warning that rising costs are weighing on PC and smartphone demand.

The company has signed roughly five-year supply deals with 14 major customers, covering more than half its output for 2027 and 2028. It expects HBM4, its next-generation high-bandwidth memory, to exceed HBM3E in shipments and revenue in the fourth quarter.
