> Registered agents can search providers, check insurance and schedule visits. Zocdoc reports agent traffic has grown nearly 30-fold since July but has not disclosed resulting bookings or revenue.

Zocdoc is opening its care-booking network to identified AI agents, giving software a way to find providers and schedule visits as CEO Oliver Kharraz argues trusted transaction systems may gain value when agents act for users.

Registered agents that identify themselves can search for vetted providers, check insurance coverage and appointment availability, then book visits on providers’ calendars. Zocdoc expects agents to obtain explicit patient consent before booking and to protect patient and provider information.

Zocdoc also announced a partnership with Instinct. Instinct’s agent will be able to connect through Zocdoc’s Model Context Protocol server to find providers, verify insurance and book confirmed appointments.

The company put AI-agent traffic at nearly 30 times its July 2026 level. It said that traffic had doubled about every 10 days on average since early September, and that activity in the first two weeks of October exceeded the prior three months combined. Zocdoc has not disclosed how many agent visits became bookings or how much revenue they generated.

Kharraz argues that companies with trusted information and systems for completing transactions may become more valuable as agents help people act. “I would rather be early and learning than late and scrambling,” he wrote. He said providers pay Zocdoc when agent referrals bring new patients, and eligible agent partners may also earn revenue.

Zocdoc charges providers a one-time booking fee when it helps a patient discover and book with them. The fee does not apply when someone books with an existing provider or searches for a specific provider. The company says its network includes more than 200,000 verified providers, more than 10,000 insurance plans and more than 175 scheduling integrations.

The agent offering follows earlier booking access through the Google Gemini app in August. In September, Zocdoc extended provider availability beyond its own website to AI platforms, search engines and insurance directories. The traffic figures show increased agent activity, but without booking or revenue totals they do not show whether that activity has expanded Zocdoc’s business.
