> September-quarter loan originations were $45.4 million, while net income declined 28% sequentially to $1.57 million.

CEO Donavon Ternes said on Oct. 28 that Provident expects December-quarter originations to stay between $29 million and $46 million, consistent with recent quarters.

President and CEO Donavon Ternes gave the outlook during the company’s Oct. 28 investor call. “Despite the volatility in the market, our loan pipeline has remained stable,” Ternes said.

September-quarter originations of loans held for investment totaled $45.4 million, down from $46.4 million in June. Principal payments and payoffs totaled $40.8 million, down 6% from $43.5 million in the preceding quarter.

Ternes said holiday-season activity typically weighs on originations, though management expects some growth in the December quarter. He also expects loan prepayment activity to continue moderating.

Net income fell 28% sequentially to $1.57 million. Net interest margin rose 11 basis points to 3.32%.
