> Kisqali and Kesimpta grew, while remibrutinib reduced relapse rates versus teriflunomide in two Phase III trials.

Novartis’ net sales rose 4% in the third quarter of 2026 as growth from Kisqali and Kesimpta helped offset a 38% drop in Entresto amid generic competition.

The Swiss drugmaker posted $14.522 billion in net sales. Worldwide sales of Entresto fell 38% to $1.165 billion, while Kisqali rose 37% to $1.821 billion and Kesimpta climbed 21% to $1.484 billion. Generic competition was the main factor in Entresto’s decline. Volume added 14 percentage points to sales growth, while generic competition subtracted nine points and pricing one point.

The estimated U.S. patent or exclusivity expiration year is 2031 for both Kisqali and Kesimpta. The dates are planning estimates, may not mark when generic competition starts and do not account for every later-expiring patent.

Remibrutinib posted lower annualized relapse rates than teriflunomide in two Phase III trials involving 2,007 patients with relapsing multiple sclerosis. In REMODEL-1, rates were 0.073 for remibrutinib and 0.112 for teriflunomide, a 35.2% reduction. In REMODEL-2, the rates were 0.080 and 0.116, respectively, a 31.2% reduction. The trials did not compare remibrutinib with Kesimpta or Roche’s fenebrutinib.

Novartis expects to submit remibrutinib for U.S. approval to treat relapsing multiple sclerosis in Q4 2026 and estimates peak sales above $4 billion for that use. The drug is already approved in the U.S. as Rhapsido for chronic spontaneous urticaria and symptomatic dermographism, but not for multiple sclerosis.

Other pipeline results included setbacks. Pelacarsen missed its Phase III primary endpoint for reducing cardiovascular events. Novartis’ [third-quarter results](<https://www.tokenpost.com/news/business/41571>) also included a $1.9 billion partial impairment of the del-desiran research asset after the Phase III HARBOR study missed its primary endpoint. Novartis discontinued a Phase III remibrutinib study in generalized myasthenia gravis after a futility analysis, saying the decision did not affect studies in other indications.

Novartis CEO Vas Narasimhan described the quarter’s results as “demonstrating the replacement power of the business.” The company plans to discuss its 2026-2031 guidance and peak-sales potential for growth brands and pipeline assets at a management event scheduled for Nov. 18-19, 2026.
