> Microsoft’s estimate fell to $170 billion, but an official note tied the change to accounting treatment and said its AI investment plan was unchanged.

Meta’s higher spending floor puts the combined 2026 capital spending forecasts for four major technology companies at $720 billion to $740 billion, while Microsoft’s lower estimate reflects an accounting adjustment rather than a change to its AI investment plan.

Meta set its 2026 range at $135 billion to $145 billion, raising the low end from $130 billion while leaving the high end unchanged. Microsoft’s estimate moved to about $170 billion from $175 billion. An official note tied the revision to accounting treatment and said the company’s AI investment plan remained unchanged from the start of the year.

Alphabet kept its range at $195 billion to $205 billion, while Amazon maintained an estimate of about $220 billion. Adding the four forecasts gives a low-end total of $720 billion and a high-end total of exactly $740 billion. The companies’ combined 2025 capital spending was $455.8 billion.
