Foxconn aims to raise its share of the global AI server market to 50% within a couple of years as it expands production and U.S. manufacturing, Chairman Young Liu said.

Liu put Foxconn’s current share at about 40% and said it could reach about 45% next year. The target covers the overall AI server market. It is separate from Foxconn’s potential share of [NVIDIA Vera Rubin server orders](<https://www.tokenpost.com/news/business/42407>), a product-specific measure.

Foxconn’s production capacity is booked for at least the next 18 months, Liu said. Demand has mainly come from AI model developers and cloud service providers. Governments and businesses have yet to fully adopt the technology, he said.

In the United States, Foxconn plans to move further up the supply chain. Because manufacturing costs are higher there, the company will initially focus on higher-margin products, including AI server racks and data-center equipment. Liu said expanding production could eventually help lower costs.

Liu expects AI infrastructure, excluding edge AI devices, to make up 60% to 65% of Foxconn’s revenue in three to five years. The company has planned annual AI spending of $3 billion to $5 billion, but could spend more depending on how far it expands its vertical integration. “Overinvestment will kill the company,” Liu said.

Liu said Foxconn could offset weaker AI spending by one major customer with growth from others. A slowdown across the industry would pose a greater challenge to the company and the wider AI supply chain.
