> The facility covers certain technology infrastructure purchases from 2027 through 2028. Amazon maintained its 2026 cash capital expenditure forecast at about $220 billion.

Amazon disclosed a financing arrangement that could make up to approximately $80 billion available for certain technology infrastructure purchases, adding a potential borrowing option as the company expects capital investment to rise in 2027.

The facility will be available for discretionary borrowing from Q1 2027 through Q3 2028. Amazon can decide whether to borrow, and the amount available depends on the size and timing of orders and their pricing.

The disclosure does not establish that Amazon has borrowed through this facility or will use its full potential capacity. Borrowings will carry variable interest rates, with each draw due five years after it is made. Amazon will grant security interests in certain purchased assets, and outstanding balances will be classified as long-term debt.

The terms appeared in Amazon’s quarterly report for the period ended Sept. 30, filed Oct. 30. The facility adds detail to [Amazon’s capital spending and cash-flow outlook](<https://www.tokenpost.com/news/business/44364>). The company maintained its forecast for about $220 billion in cash capital expenditures in 2026 and expects spending to rise meaningfully next year, primarily because of technology infrastructure investment.

Cash capital expenditures reached $75.9 billion in the third quarter, compared with $34.2 billion a year earlier. For the first nine months of 2026, they totaled $172.2 billion, up from $89.9 billion in the same period of 2025. Amazon said those outlays mainly supported technology infrastructure, most of it for Amazon Web Services (AWS), and added fulfillment capacity.

For the 12 months ended Sept. 30, free cash flow was an outflow of $42.4 billion, compared with an inflow of $14.8 billion in the preceding 12-month period. Net purchases of property and equipment, after proceeds from sales and incentives, increased by $94.8 billion year over year. Amazon said that increase primarily reflected AI investment.

AWS sales rose 39.3% year over year to $46 billion in the third quarter, equivalent to a $184 billion annualized revenue run rate. Amazon President and CEO Andy Jassy said the AWS investment “is working” and projected revenue growth above 40% in both 2027 and 2028.

Amazon also had a separate $17.5 billion unsecured term loan outstanding at the end of September. The company drew that loan in September, and it is due in September 2029. The newly disclosed facility covers future infrastructure purchases, with its borrowing window beginning in the first quarter of 2027.
