> Nine of 13 companies had year-over-year revenue growth, while eight reported higher earnings. Analysts expect McDonald’s, Airbnb, Booking Holdings and DoorDash to report next week.

Revenue growth was more common than earnings growth across a 13-company consumer discretionary results tally, with nine companies posting higher year-over-year sales and eight reporting higher earnings for their latest quarters.

Results against quarterly estimates also favored revenue. Eight companies beat revenue forecasts and five fell short. For earnings per share (EPS), seven beat estimates, five missed and one matched expectations.

The latest tally covers more companies than an [earlier TokenPost snapshot of sector results](<https://www.tokenpost.com/news/business/40259>). That snapshot covered nine companies: six beat EPS estimates, four beat revenue forecasts, five had year-over-year revenue growth and four had higher EPS. In the current 13-company group, revenue growth outnumbered earnings growth by one company.

Analysts expect four consumer discretionary companies to report next week. McDonald’s is expected to post EPS of $3.38 and revenue of $7.29 billion. Airbnb’s estimates are $2.85 in EPS and $4.75 billion in revenue.

Booking Holdings is expected to report EPS of $4.50 and revenue of $9.54 billion. DoorDash’s estimates are $1.58 in EPS and $4.84 billion in revenue.
