> Adjusted operating revenue rose to $2.5 billion for the three months ended Sept. 30, while the loss widened from $12.1 billion a year earlier.

Anthropic posted a $23.3 billion net loss for the third quarter, an increase from a year earlier that puts the financial stakes of the AI race in focus for investors.

The loss compared with $12.1 billion in the same quarter last year, an increase of $11.2 billion, or about 93%. The results cover the three months ended Sept. 30, 2026.

Adjusted operating revenue for the period rose to $2.5 billion. That figure places revenue growth alongside a net loss that nearly doubled year over year, giving investors two sharply different measures of Anthropic’s financial performance in the quarter.

The year-over-year comparison uses the same three-month period, putting the change in quarterly terms. The figures offer investors a direct view of the tension in Anthropic’s results: adjusted operating revenue rose while the net loss expanded substantially.
