The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) plans to use Broadridge Financial Solutions for shareholder voting and digital transfer-agent services on its planned tokenized-stock platform, extending familiar investor functions to blockchain-based shares.

The arrangement covers shareholder recordkeeping, investor communications and proxy voting. Investors could cast votes through supported wallets, brokerage platforms or Broadridge’s ProxyVote service.

A transfer agent helps maintain share ownership records and supports communication between companies and investors. The planned services are intended to let tokenized shares trade on-chain while retaining shareholder rights associated with traditional markets.

Broadridge serves more than 10,000 listed companies worldwide and settles more than $15 trillion in securities transactions each day. Securitize and tZERO have also been included in transfer-agent work for NYSE’s planned tokenized platform.

That puts voting and investor recordkeeping among the functions NYSE is preparing to pair with blockchain-based stock trading. The services address how investors participate after shares move on-chain for shareholders.
