> The seven-tranche sale comes as Alphabet reports negative third-quarter free cash flow and $265.1 billion in cash and marketable securities.

Alphabet priced €6 billion in notes across seven tranches on Nov. 2, equivalent to about $6.72 billion at that day’s exchange rate. The notes are scheduled to settle Nov. 5.

The pricing comes as Alphabet’s capital spending weighs on quarterly cash flow. The company recorded negative $9.1 billion in free cash flow during the third quarter, which it attributed to capital spending. It ended the quarter with $265.1 billion in cash and marketable securities.

Microsoft reported a different cash flow result for its quarter ended Sept. 30, generating $18.6 billion in free cash flow while recording $45.2 billion in capital expenditures. Microsoft CFO Amy Hood said, “Given our strong business performance, we expect to continue to remain free cash flow positive in FY27.”

Microsoft priced $25 billion in notes on Oct. 29. Oracle priced $10 billion in notes on Nov. 2, alongside a separate $10 billion stock offering. Microsoft and Oracle intend to use their note proceeds for general corporate purposes, which may include capital expenditures.
