> Sales increased 5.8% in the six months ended Sept. 30, while operating profit and profit attributable to owners of the parent fell.

Yokogawa Electric Corporation raised its FY2026 sales and profit forecasts following first-half results and its outlook, while orders rose 21.7% and operating profit and profit attributable to owners of the parent declined.

The company released results Nov. 4 for the six months ended Sept. 30. Net sales increased 5.8% year over year to ¥298.229 billion. Operating profit fell 8.4% to ¥35.739 billion, ordinary profit declined 8.6% to ¥36.280 billion, and profit attributable to owners of the parent dropped 21.5% to ¥23.065 billion.

Orders received totaled ¥365.641 billion. Excluding exchange-rate effects, they increased ¥38.7 billion, or 12.9%. Yokogawa pointed to steady orders for its control business in Japan and overseas, as well as growing demand for measuring instruments related to AI data centers, as factors in the increase.

The Measuring Instruments business recorded net sales of ¥21.328 billion, up 40.7%, and operating profit of ¥6.168 billion, up 105.9%. Yokogawa provides industrial automation and test-and-measurement solutions; its measuring instruments serve fields including electrical power and optical communications.

In the Industrial Automation and Control business, net sales rose 4.3% to ¥275.912 billion. Operating profit fell 17.3% to ¥29.827 billion as lower gross margins and higher selling, general and administrative expenses weighed on the segment.

For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027, Yokogawa now forecasts net sales of ¥629 billion, up from its previous ¥615 billion outlook. It raised its operating-profit forecast to ¥88 billion from ¥85 billion and its forecast for profit attributable to owners of the parent to ¥60.5 billion from ¥58.5 billion. The forecast assumes an exchange rate of ¥150 per U.S. dollar.
