CCSH Corporation’s planned $4.9 billion Shanghai listing is on hold as China’s equity market weakens and regulators increase scrutiny of new chip and artificial intelligence offerings.

CCSH is YMTC’s parent. It filed to list on Shanghai’s STAR Market in August, and the application remains in the inquiry stage, before registration or issuance. Planned strategic share placements for late October or early November have also been paused.

China’s market decline has weighed on the listing timetable. The CSI 300 fell 8.5% in October, its worst monthly performance in more than a decade. The STAR 50, an index focused mainly on Shanghai-listed chip and AI companies, lost about 40% from its July peak through the end of October.

YMTC is a major Chinese NAND flash maker and ranks third globally in NAND production capacity. It has gained market share in China from Samsung and SK Hynix since a global memory shortage began last year. NAND flash stores data in phones, computers and data centers.

The IPO process could resume in the first half of 2027 if market conditions allow.
