> The package includes about $151 million for 200 equipment sets from Hon. Precision. The transaction announcements do not identify a customer for the Fort Worth capacity.

AeternZ, the U.S. subsidiary of King Yuan Electronics (KYEC), approved about $614 million in purchases for a semiconductor-testing site in Fort Worth, Texas. The transaction announcements do not identify a customer for the site's capacity.

KYEC announced Oct. 29 that AeternZ's board had approved five transactions. They include $79.35 million for land and a building, about $349 million for facility equipment from TRANTEK, and purchases of testing machines from three suppliers.

The machine orders include about $151 million for 200 equipment sets from Hon. Precision, $9.18 million for 15 sets from EO Technics and $25.95 million for 30 sets from KLA. The property covers about 1.18 million square feet, including a building of roughly 489,500 square feet.

The purchases follow NVIDIA's customer prepayment agreement, signed by AeternZ on Oct. 13. Under the agreement, KYEC and AeternZ are to build testing capacity in the United States, reserve capacity for NVIDIA and provide testing services. The advance will be applied against future service fees. The Fort Worth transaction announcements do not specify that site's customer.

The purchase package amounts to about 60% of KYEC's consolidated revenue for the first nine months. KYEC's board separately approved a $104 million transfer of 10 machines to AeternZ on Nov. 5. The parent-subsidiary transfer has no disposal gain or loss on consolidation and does not increase the total for external purchases.

The announcements do not give a production timeline or total investment target for the Fort Worth site.
