> Research and development expenses rose to $51.516 million as the company advanced two clinical trials. It expects its $403.760 million in cash and investments to fund planned operations beyond the second quarter of 2029.

LB Pharmaceuticals posted a net loss of $1.79 per share for the third quarter of 2026 as research and development costs climbed while it advanced two clinical trials. The Nasdaq-listed neuromedicines company released results for the quarter ended Sept. 30 on Nov. 5.

The unaudited basic and diluted loss per share compared with $0.61 in the third quarter of 2025. Net loss reached $59.066 million, up from $3.556 million a year earlier. For the first nine months of 2026, net loss per share was $4.25, compared with $6.26 for the same period in 2025.

Research and development expenses rose to $51.516 million from $2.419 million in the year-earlier quarter. The increase primarily reflected work on the company’s Phase 3 schizophrenia trial and Phase 2 bipolar depression trial.

Cash, cash equivalents and short-term investments totaled $403.760 million as of Sept. 30, 2026. LB Pharmaceuticals expects those funds to support its planned operations beyond the second quarter of 2029.

The company’s lead candidate, investigational drug LB-102, is being tested for acute schizophrenia in the Phase 3 NOVA-2 trial. CEO Heather Turner said, “We remain on track to report topline results from our Phase 3 NOVA-2 trial of LB-102 in schizophrenia in the first half of 2027.”
