> Bill Ackman said the company expects significant progress on its monetization plan by then but likely will not have completed it.

Howard Hughes Holdings could generate about $2 billion from real estate transactions by the end of 2027, Executive Chairman Bill Ackman said, setting a rough horizon for the company’s property monetization plan.

On Friday’s call, Ackman described the estimate as a guide rather than a fixed commitment. “That is an approximation. It could be more, it could be less,” he said. He expects significant progress on the plan by the end of 2027, though he said it likely will not be finished by then.

The company intends to monetize two parts of its portfolio: stakes in selected operating properties and joint ventures involving some residential land in its master-planned communities. That structure would let Howard Hughes bring in transaction proceeds while retaining operational control.

Under long-term agreements, Howard Hughes expects to continue as developer, manager and operator. The company’s plan covers both operating properties and residential land, with different transaction structures for each.

Howard Hughes expects to direct proceeds primarily to Vantage, its specialty insurance and reinsurance subsidiary. The company completed its acquisition of Vantage Group Holdings on June 4 for about $2.1 billion.

Ackman said Howard Hughes had been fielding offers for major assets since announcing the strategy and had hired advisers. He did not identify the properties or prospective buyers. As of its Nov. 5 filing, the company had not entered definitive agreements for monetization transactions.

The timing and proceeds depend on market conditions, interest from counterparties, debt terms and other factors. The transactions may not occur, and the estimated amount is not a guarantee of completed sales or joint ventures.

The estimate gives a new timeline to the [broader real estate strategy Howard Hughes outlined in September](<https://www.tokenpost.com/news/business/48238>), which aims to bring in outside capital while keeping the company involved in operating and developing its properties.
