# Cryptocurrency exchange Gemini launches mobile app for Android and iOS

Cryptocurrency exchange [Gemini](<https://gemini.com/>) has [announced](<https://medium.com/gemini/introducing-the-gemini-mobile-app-crypto-on-the-go-1448d2ae74fa>) the launch of its mobile app which will offer users an easy and safe way to buy, sell, and store cryptocurrencies.

The Gemini Mobile App is available in the [Apple App Store](<https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/gemini-buy-sell-crypto/id1408914447?_branch_match_id=599291107797210655>) and Google Play Store for all users.

In addition to the basic functions of buying, selling and storing cryptos, users will also be able to use the app to view market prices and portfolio value, set price alerts, set recurring buy orders, buy The Cryptoverse (i.e., basket orders), and send and receive cryptocurrencies.

“We’ve spent the last three years building the world’s most trusted cryptocurrency platform and today we are excited to extend it into the hands of our customers,” said Cameron Winklevoss, President of Gemini. “Cryptocurrency never sleeps so it’s important for us to make it easy for our customers to engage with it wherever they are and whenever they want.”

Founded in 2014, Gemini is a New York trust company subject to the capital reserve requirements, cybersecurity requirements, and banking compliance standards set forth by the New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS). In December, Gemini, in partnership with the Cboe Futures Exchange, launched the first-ever bitcoin futures contract.

In September 2018, the NYDFS [authorized](<https://tokenpost.com/NYDFS-approves-Gemini-and-Paxos-to-offer-USD-pegged-stablecoin-338>) Gemini Trust Company to offer stablecoin – “Gemini Dollar” (GUSD) – pegged 1:1 to the U.S. dollar.
