> The $62 target implies about 88% upside from Wednesday’s close; Morgan Stanley’s market forecast assumes broad commercial adoption of fault-tolerant machines.

Morgan Stanley moved Quantinuum’s rating to Overweight from Equal-weight and set a $62 target, forecasting that the quantum computing market could exceed $100 billion annually by 2040 if fault-tolerant machines see broad adoption.

The target is about 88% above Quantinuum’s Wednesday close. Morgan Stanley’s scenario puts the market near $10 billion in 2030 before it reaches more than $100 billion a decade later; that outcome depends on fault-tolerant systems entering widespread commercial use.

Morgan Stanley analyst Joseph Moore said, “No company has built one yet.” He added that current revenue offers little insight into which quantum businesses will eventually succeed.

Morgan Stanley compared companies on technical progress, execution, manufacturability and other indicators, giving technology the most weight. Its Quantinuum revenue forecast is about $270 million in 2028 and $2 billion in 2030.

The bank views 2027 as a pivotal year for the quantum industry and Quantinuum’s next-generation Sol system as a key hardware milestone.
