Vandell Aljarrah, co-founder of Black Swan Capitalist, argues XRP can gain value without more network use, pointing to scarcity and investor sentiment as forces that can shape prices.

“You don’t have to like the tech or the people behind it to see the opportunity,” Aljarrah wrote on X. He has argued that limited supply, the escrow system, perceived value and market narratives may matter more to XRP’s price than new payment uses. In his view, financial conditions can also help risky assets gain against the U.S. dollar. Greater adoption could support a price increase, but he does not consider it necessary.

Aljarrah’s position gives investor expectations a larger role than network activity. Buyers could become more optimistic even if usage stays flat, making payment integrations and other practical uses optional in his price thesis rather than prerequisites.

To make the case for patience during stagnant markets, Aljarrah pointed to about two years of sideways trading before XRP gained roughly 60,000% in the 2017-18 bull run.

Aljarrah has also cited XRP declines of about 85% to 96% in previous market cycles. Those losses show the sharp swings that have accompanied the historical gains he invokes.
