The dollar index moved above 101 on Sept. 23 as the 10-year U.S. Treasury yield climbed back above 5%, adding pressure to crypto and other risk-sensitive assets.

The DXY rose 0.47% intraday, marking its first move above 101 since July 30. The advance came alongside a broader rise in U.S. Treasury yields.

The 10-year Treasury yield increased 5.81 basis points to 5.025%, returning above the psychologically important 5% threshold. Higher yields can make cash and government debt more attractive relative to risk assets, while a stronger dollar can add further pressure to markets priced in dollars.
