Veteran trader Peter Brandt’s long-term chart places Ether (ETH) on a potential path toward $8,600 if the cryptocurrency breaks above $5,000.

The chart marks a higher target of $8,674.50, above the rounded $8,600 level.

Brandt said publishing a chart or making a price assessment does not mean he has entered a trade. He added that anyone claiming to have completed such a trade should provide proof.

Brandt began his commodities trading career in 1976 and founded Factor Trading Co. in 1980.
