# HYPE Whale Cuts $16.45 Million Long Position, Keeps Spot Holdings

A Hyperliquid address cut a $16.45 million long position in HYPE early Thursday, closing all 178,800 tokens at a loss of about $250,000 and removing its leveraged exposure.

The address retained about 375 HYPE in spot holdings and 10,100 staked HYPE after exiting the long position. The remaining holdings represent a much smaller market position than the closed trade.

The address has also placed about $6.38 million in buy orders between $87 and $89, while sell orders between $98 and $101 total roughly $13.71 million.

The move follows another HYPE long opened Wednesday night and closed Thursday morning. The address has recently exited two momentum trades at a loss.
