# Only Nine of Top 50 Altcoins Have Outperformed Bitcoin Since Record High

Only nine of the 50 largest altcoins by market capitalization have outperformed Bitcoin (BTC) since Bitcoin reached its all-time high, highlighting the limited breadth of gains across the group.

ZEC posted the strongest relative performance, gaining 14 times Bitcoin’s return over the period. HYPE, XMR and NEAR followed with gains between two and three times Bitcoin’s performance.

The other 41 altcoins did not outperform Bitcoin during the same period.
