Bitcoin (BTC) briefly fell below $83,000 on Sept. 24 as markets priced four additional Federal Reserve rate increases through June 2027, adding pressure to risk assets.

The projected federal funds target range would rise to 4.75%-5% from the current 3.75%-4%, representing 100 basis points of additional increases. BTC had recently reached about $87,500 before retreating below $83,000.

Treasury yields also moved higher. The 10-year yield rose above 5.1%, its highest level since 2007, while the 20-year yield approached 5.5%. The long-term Treasury exchange-traded fund TLT fell below $80, and the dollar index moved above 101.

Gold remained above $4,200 as higher yields, a stronger dollar, energy-price inflation linked to Middle East tensions and increased bond issuance for artificial intelligence infrastructure shaped markets.
