# Bitcoin Drops 1.3% in One Hour to $84,072, With Long Liquidations

Bitcoin (BTC) fell 1.28% in one hour to $84,072 at 8:17 a.m. ET (12:17 UTC) Sept. 25, while long-position liquidations reached $4.18 million across Binance, Bybit and OKX during the same period.

The price declined from $85,166 one hour earlier. Despite the hourly drop, BTC remained up 0.59% from 24 hours earlier.

The liquidation totals, calculated from the three exchanges, included $4.18 million in long positions and $130,000 in short positions. Long liquidations occur when leveraged bets on higher prices are forcibly closed after the market moves lower.

Bitcoin remained the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, with a value of about $1.71004154 trillion.
