# U.S. Stocks Gain as Apple Sets Record Close, Crypto Shares Retreat

> The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.93%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite added 0.51% and 0.48%, respectively, at the latest U.S. market close.

U.S. stocks finished higher at the latest U.S. market close, with the major indexes advancing while crypto-linked shares declined, creating a mixed close for markets watched by digital-asset investors.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.93%, the S&P 500 gained 0.51% and the Nasdaq Composite advanced 0.48%.

Apple gained more than 1% to reach another record closing high, bringing its market value close to $5 trillion.

Semiconductor, storage and optical communications stocks broadly gained. Seagate Technology rose 1.20%, Western Digital added 1.44%, SanDisk gained 1.38%, Micron Technology advanced 0.16% and Nvidia rose 0.22%. Advanced Micro Devices also added 0.22%, while Intel fell 3.45%.

Crypto-linked shares moved lower. Strategy declined 1.86%, Coinbase fell 2.06%, Circle dropped 4.30%, BitMine Immersion lost 1.68% and SharpLink Gaming slid 3.22%.

Optical communications stocks were mostly higher. Fabrinet rose 4.78%, AXT gained 4.01%, Coherent advanced 1.80%, Applied Optoelectronics added 0.37%, Lumentum Holdings rose 1.36% and Marvell Technology gained 1.15%. Ciena fell 0.42%, while Nokia declined 0.38%.
