President Donald Trump rejected Iran’s conditional proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and resume nuclear talks, while Saudi-led forces intercepted four projectiles aimed at the kingdom, adding to pressure on energy and risk markets.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi proposed reopening the strategically important waterway and restarting negotiations with the U.S. within seven days if Washington ends what Tehran calls acts of aggression, lifts a naval blockade and releases Iranian assets.

Trump has told aides he expects renewed U.S. bombing of Iran after the November midterm elections, with the conflict still unresolved. The fighting began Feb. 28 with U.S. and Israeli airstrikes on Iran.

The Saudi-led Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen said it intercepted and destroyed two drones launched toward Riyadh and two ballistic missiles aimed at the Khamis Mushait region near Abha.

The conflict has sharply restricted energy shipments from the Middle East. West Texas Intermediate crude fell 2.3% for the week to $92.41 per barrel, while Brent crude declined 2.1% to $104.32.
