# Hyperliquid Whale Boomer Cuts $31.1 Million in Longs, Opens Shorts

Hyperliquid whale Boomer closed more than $31.1 million in long positions across 10 altcoins late Monday, realizing an estimated $1.248 million loss before shifting into short positions in Zcash (ZEC) and NEAR (NEAR).

The closed positions covered ZEC, NEAR, Uniswap (UNI), Hyperliquid (HYPE), Pump.fun (PUMP), Ethena (ENA), Aerodrome (AERO), Ondo (ONDO), Sky (SKY) and Pudgy Penguins (PENGU). PUMP was the only position that recorded a small profit.

About five minutes after closing the ZEC long, Boomer opened short positions in ZEC and NEAR. The combined positions were valued at about $9.707 million.

The ZEC short accounted for roughly $8.237 million, representing 6,000 ZEC opened at an average price of $1,421.40 and showing an unrealized profit of about $291,000. The NEAR short was valued at about $1.47 million, representing approximately 322,100 tokens opened at an average price of $4.63 and showing an unrealized profit of about $24,000.

The position change leaves Boomer exposed to further declines in ZEC and NEAR after cutting a broad group of altcoin longs.
