> AAVE rose 11% from 8 p.m. ET Sept. 28, while Bitcoin gained 0.82% and broader crypto markets advanced.

Aave (AAVE) led a rebound in decentralized-finance tokens Sept. 29, rising 11% as Bitcoin advanced despite Treasury yields remaining above 5%.

AAVE rose 11% from 8 p.m. ET Sept. 28 (midnight UTC) and 13% over 24 hours to $166.55. The DeFi Select Index gained 5.0%, while Curve DAO Token (CRV) increased 5.2% over the same period.

Bitcoin (BTC) traded at $84,170, up 0.82% from midnight UTC and 1.4% over 24 hours.

The 10-year and 30-year Treasury yields were quoted at 5.234% and 5.549%, respectively. The latest daily par-yield figure available for Sept. 24 put the 10-year yield at 5.18%.

Aavenomics 3.0 has been described as a planned automated, non-discretionary AAVE buyback program. No specific burn mechanism, amount or timing has been established.

AAVE is Aave’s governance token, and the DAO operates a buyback program with a $50 million annual budget. Weekly purchases are described as ranging from $250,000 to $1.75 million.

A March 2025 governance proposal designated 320,000 AAVE held in the LEND migration contract for transfer to the ecosystem reserve. The tokens could later be used for growth, safety or burn proposals.

Aave founder Stani Kulechov wrote, “There is NO WAY we’d sell AAVE at a 70% discount lol.”

Broader market participation also improved. Seventy-two of 100 constituents in a broad crypto index were higher, lifting the index 0.89% to 1,904.49.

Futures open interest stood at $149.36 billion at 5:45 a.m. ET (09:45 UTC), compared with about $150 billion the previous day. Trading volume rose 26% to $218 billion, while liquidations totaled $389 million.

Bitcoin futures open interest fell to 644,000 BTC, its lowest reported level since March 4.
