Tether minted approximately $494.57 million worth of Tether Gold (XAUt) on Sept. 29, distinct from a new USDT issuance.

The newly minted XAUt represents about 17% of the token’s circulating market value, which stood at approximately $2.84 billion.

Tether Gold is Tether’s tokenized gold product, while USDT is the company’s U.S. dollar token. The latest issuance therefore expanded XAUt’s supply rather than adding to USDT’s circulating supply.
