> Ether gained nearly 70% in the third quarter after two losing quarters, while spot Ether ETFs recorded $892 million in September net inflows.

Arthur Hayes, the former CEO of BitMEX, expects Ether (ETH) to reach $10,000 by the end of 2026, a forecast that would put the asset at more than three times its current price near $2,700.

Hayes made the prediction during Korea Blockchain Week 2026 in Seoul. ETH remained about 46% below its all-time high of $4,946.

The forecast follows a sharp quarterly rebound. Ether gained nearly 70% in the third quarter after falling 29.26% in the first quarter and 25.28% in the second quarter.

Hayes said he favors ETH because he can deploy a large amount of capital into it without expecting a sudden 75% loss from an exploit. He attributed Ethereum’s periods of underperformance to changing market narratives, including Solana’s strength in meme coins and competing networks drawing activity away from Ethereum.

He also characterized Ethereum as the most secure Layer 1 network because of its market capitalization. Spot Ether exchange-traded funds recorded $892 million in net inflows during September, with one trading day remaining in the month. The daily inflow streak that began Sept. 18 ended with a $2.8 million outflow.

Cumulative inflows reached $13.95 billion by that point, adding to the market backdrop for Hayes’ year-end forecast.
