Bitcoin (BTC) accounted for $37.6 million of crypto-market liquidations in the hour ending at 8:44 a.m. ET (12:44 p.m. UTC) Sept. 30, making up more than 60% of the $61.6 million total.

Short positions made up the overwhelming majority of the losses, with $59.2 million liquidated across the market. Long-position liquidations totaled $2.5 million during the same hour.

The figures show a concentrated burst of leveraged-position unwinding, with Bitcoin representing the largest share of forced closures across crypto assets.
