Ripple released 1 billion XRP from escrow through four transactions on Sept. 30, creating a sizable supply event for XRP markets valued at about $1.49 billion.

The transfers occurred within minutes and divided the release into 400 million XRP, 300 million XRP, 200 million XRP and 100 million XRP transactions.

Escrow releases move tokens previously held under a locked arrangement into circulation. The four-transfer structure accounted for the full 1 billion XRP release.
