> The weekly average rose $17.897 billion, while the Treasury General Account and reverse repurchase agreements also increased that day.

Federal Reserve bank reserves fell $88.236 billion in the Sept. 30 snapshot even as the weekly average increased, a split that does not establish whether dollar funding tightened for Bitcoin markets.

Reserve balances totaled $2.882 trillion on Wednesday, Sept. 30, down from the previous Wednesday. The average for the week ending Sept. 30 was $2.948 trillion, up $17.897 billion from the previous week’s average.

The snapshot reflects balances on one day, while the weekly average smooths changes over several days. The two figures therefore measure different periods and can move in opposite directions.

Other Fed accounts also rose on Sept. 30. The Treasury General Account, the federal government’s account at the central bank, increased by $36.729 billion to $984.046 billion. Reverse repurchase agreements rose $41.158 billion to $361.883 billion, including $350.344 billion held for foreign official and international accounts.

These movements describe funds among Fed accounts. They do not measure how much money investors could deploy in Bitcoin (BTC) or whether crypto exchanges, lenders or derivatives traders faced tighter financing. Treasury receipts and spending, along with changes in other Fed assets and liabilities, can affect reserve balances.

A single-day decline does not by itself show that dollar funding tightened for crypto markets. In an earlier [Bitcoin liquidity test](<https://www.tokenpost.com/news/investing/24678>), overnight funding costs were identified as a market indicator to watch. Evidence of persistent pressure would require later readings and measures closer to trading, such as market depth or financing conditions.
