> U.S. spot Ether funds saw $55.4 million in net outflows on Oct. 1, while social sentiment weakened. Neither signal confirms a market reversal.

Ether (ETH) gained 70.6% in the third quarter, but U.S. spot funds recorded $55.4 million in net outflows on Oct. 1 as social sentiment weakened, leaving early October signals mixed.

The quarterly gain took Ether from $1,570 to $2,677 between July 1 and Sept. 30. The return is backward-looking and describes a different measure of market activity from fund flows or online discussion.

Fidelity’s spot Ether fund had $23.5 million in outflows on Oct. 1. Grayscale’s Ethereum Mini Trust recorded a $1.5 million inflow.

Social sentiment also turned more negative. There were 0.89 bullish comments about ETH for every bearish comment on Oct. 1, the lowest ratio since June 7. The measure tracks online discussion, not trading activity or investor positions.

The indicators do not establish that a broader reversal has begun. One day of fund outflows does not show whether withdrawals will continue, and weaker sentiment does not prove that holders are selling. Together, they raise the possibility of a pullback after the quarterly rally, but the available figures do not confirm one.
