> The stock closed Friday at $166.43, down more than half from its initial post-IPO rise. Cerebras’ market capitalization fell from $95 billion after its first trading day to just over $39 billion.

Cerebras shares fell nearly 20% during the week, closing Friday at $166.43 and reaching their lowest level since the company debuted in May. The stock is down more than half from its initial post-IPO rise, while the company’s market capitalization has dropped from $95 billion after its first trading day to just over $39 billion.

The decline came as investors weighed the expiration of restrictions on some insider-held shares. Up to 19.4 million shares held by directors, officers, non-executive employees and other holders became eligible for sale Wednesday, representing 8% of shares outstanding.

Cerebras makes dinner plate-sized application-specific integrated circuits, or ASICs, designed for AI inference. It leases computing capacity from those chips through cloud services operated from its data centers.

In January, Cerebras struck a deal worth more than $10 billion to supply OpenAI with 750 megawatts of computing power through 2028.

Chief Executive Andrew Feldman and Chief Technology Officer Sean Lie sold more than $240 million in Class A shares from Aug. 20 through Sept. 25 under trading plans adopted shortly after the IPO. Other executives also sold shares worth millions.
