Wallets attributed to the U.S. government moved 833.599 Bitcoin (BTC) and 40,285 BNB worth a combined $103 million on Oct. 7, but the transfers do not confirm a completed sale.

The Bitcoin, valued at about $71.6 million at the time of transfer, moved to addresses identified as Coinbase Prime deposit addresses. The BNB, worth roughly $31.6 million, passed through unlabeled wallets.

The transferred BTC was linked to two forfeiture cases: 568.7 BTC tied to the Potapenko/Turogin proceedings and 264.9 BTC connected to the Bitfinex case. The BNB came from assets seized in the Alameda Research case.

Sending assets to a Coinbase Prime address does not establish that the government sold them. Executive Order 14233, signed March 6, 2025, directed forfeited BTC into a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve intended for long-term government custody.
