# Japan’s Nikkei 225, South Korea’s KOSPI Close Lower

Japan’s Nikkei 225 and South Korea’s KOSPI closed lower Oct. 8, with declines in both benchmarks and two major South Korean technology stocks.

The Nikkei 225 fell 993.60 points, or 1.42%, to end at 69,042.11.

South Korea’s KOSPI dropped 159.63 points, or 2.35%, to 6,644.27. SK Hynix fell 2.4%, while Samsung Electronics declined 1.4%.
