> James Van Straten said rotation out of gold, a possible correction in U.S. equities and stablecoin inflows could shape Bitcoin’s next rally.

James Van Straten said Bitcoin (BTC)’s next rally could be shaped by rotation out of gold, a possible correction in U.S. equities and stablecoin inflows that have historically moved into the cryptocurrency.

Gold remains about 25% below its all-time high, while U.S. equities are near record levels. Van Straten said stablecoin inflows have historically trickled into Bitcoin and could support another rally.

The discussion came nearly a year after Bitcoin reached its $126,000 all-time high. It also covered whether February marked the market’s bottom, how volatility and options overwriting could affect the cycle, and whether institutional demand could make the bull market less violent.

Van Straten also discussed Scott Bessent’s bond buybacks and the strong Bitcoin and gold rally that followed. Higher interest rates, 10-year Treasury yields, French bond-market contagion risk and tokenization were also part of the discussion.

Bitcoin’s market structure has shown signs of improvement. [Its short-term holder cost basis moved above the cost basis of active long-term holders](<https://www.tokenpost.com/news/investing/23620>), marking the fifth historical occurrence of a defined bull-market confirmation signal.

Spot demand remains unresolved. Spot-trading volume remains low, and clear spot-buying demand has yet to emerge, leaving a key part of Bitcoin’s current market setup without confirmation.
