> August growth was revised below the 0.7% advance reading, while July inventories were revised higher to $959.8 billion.

U.S. wholesale inventories rose 0.5% in August to $964.2 billion, below the 0.7% increase in the advance reading and signaling a smaller monthly gain than initially estimated.

The August figure followed a revised 1.4% increase in July to $959.8 billion. July’s previous estimate showed a 1.3% gain to $958.9 billion.

The August revision provides a more modest measure of inventory growth heading into the fall.
