> Six large transfers moved $512.6 million over nearly three hours ending Oct. 8, with exchange outflows slightly exceeding inflows.

A 2,080 Bitcoin (BTC) transfer worth $167.6 million led six large crypto movements totaling $512.6 million during the period ending Oct. 8 at 2:03 p.m. ET.

The Bitcoin moved from an unknown wallet to Coinbase Institutional at 1:58 p.m. ET. Across the six transactions, $255.7 million flowed into exchanges from unknown wallets, while $256.9 million moved from exchanges to unknown wallets.

The transactions also included 36,199 Ether (ETH) worth $88 million moving from an unknown wallet to Coinbase Institutional at 12:20 p.m. ET. An equal amount of Ether moved from Coinbase Institutional to an unknown new wallet at the same time.

Three additional Bitcoin transfers moved away from Coinbase Institutional. An 818 BTC transfer worth $65.9 million went to an unknown new wallet at 1:58 p.m. ET, while 624 BTC worth $51.6 million moved to an unknown wallet at 11:13 a.m. ET. Another 623 BTC transfer worth $51.4 million went to an unknown wallet at 11:30 a.m. ET.

Transfers to exchanges are often monitored as potential selling activity because assets are placed on trading venues. Transfers away from exchanges are often viewed as potential holding activity, but the movements alone do not establish that a sale or purchase occurred.
