> Bitcoin recovered from roughly $80,300 as oil prices also retreated after Trump said the United States would not attack Iran before the Nov. 3 midterm elections.

Bitcoin (BTC) rebounded toward $82,000 after President Donald Trump said the United States would not attack Iran before the Nov. 3 midterm elections, easing immediate concerns about a wider military escalation.

Bitcoin had fallen to roughly $80,300 during Thursday’s sell-off before recovering. It reached $81,848.30 on Oct. 9, with an intraday high of $81,897. The level varied by exchange and timestamp.

WTI crude futures also moved lower after Trump’s statement. Prices had risen from $89 to $93.20 amid renewed Iran-related tensions before retreating to $90.69.

Trump said discussions between the United States and Iran were “productive” but that the blockade would remain in force. The market move followed heightened U.S. military preparations for possible renewed operations in Iran, which had added pressure to oil and cryptocurrencies.
