# Citigroup Raises Strategy Target to $240 as MSTR Futures Trade at $155.52

Citigroup raised its 12-month price target for Strategy to $240 from $136 on Oct. 2, while the MSTR futures price stood at $155.52 on Oct. 9, separating the equity valuation target from the futures market level.

The MSTR futures price was recorded at 8:07 a.m. ET (12:07 UTC). It was below the seven-day moving average of $159.94 and the 20-day moving average of $160.32, but above the 50-day average of $143.70 and the 200-day average of $131.92.

The $240 target was 76% higher than the previous $136 target. The cited resistance levels were $158.52 and $161.52, while support levels were $150.05 and $144.58.

Momentum signals were mixed. The 14-day relative strength index was 52.36, a neutral reading. The 12-day and 26-day exponential moving averages were $158.06 and $153.69, respectively.

Open interest in MSTR futures totaled 516,586.70 contracts, valued at about $77.74 million, after increasing 1.89% over 24 hours. At 5 a.m. ET (09:00 UTC), the global long-short account ratio was 2.17-to-1, with 68.5% of tracked accounts holding long positions. Among top traders, the ratio was 2.62-to-1, with 72.4% holding long positions.

Strategy, formerly MicroStrategy, trades on Nasdaq under MSTR and rebranded in February 2025. The company describes itself as a Bitcoin treasury company and identifies Bitcoin as its primary treasury reserve asset. Strategy funds Bitcoin purchases through securities issuance and cash generated by its business, giving investors different levels of exposure to the cryptocurrency.

The $240 figure is an analyst valuation target for Strategy’s underlying U.S.-listed equity. It is separate from the short-term price levels of the MSTR futures instrument, whose cited resistance levels were $158.52 and $161.52.
